What time of day is the best time to water?

In our dry climate, it is best to water either early in the morning or early in the evening. I recommend the early morning hours when there is little wind and it is cooler. If your system lowers the water pressure in your house significantly, set the timer to finish watering before you get up in the morning. In the early spring or late fall, 8:00 AM is a good time to water. In the summer we suggest 5:00 AM for most small systems.
